What are the Lowlands?
The Lowlands of Scotland are the green hills bordering England. Stirling, in the north, is the gate between the Lowlands and the Highlands.

To the north of the Lowlands are Edinburgh and Glasgow in the valleys of the Forth and Clyde Rivers, where 60% of the population lives.

The Lowlands are blessed with a mild climate and you see rich rolling farmland, green pastures and beautiful gardens, but you will also find rugged seacoasts.

North of Dumfries is Ellisland Farm where Robert Burns lived and wrote his works. Along the Scottish Borders in Abbotsford near Melrose Sir Walter Scott, the famous Scottish writer, lived.
