Letters to Audrey

Letters from Scotland   ->  The Highlands  ->  Letter 7

Dear Audrey,

We rode on the bus from Drumnadrochit to Skye and that was the most spectacular ride that I have made for very long time! The landscape shifted from relatively civilized greenish heights to desolate wilderness and rugged mountains. The skies were huge and filled with heavy clouds that got stuck on the mountain peeks. I even caught a glimpse of Braveheart, or perhaps it was Rob Roy , the Scottish version of Robin Hood! Or maybe it was the Highlander, because we passed the Eileen Donan Castle where films about the Highlander have been shot.

At 5 o’clock in the afternoon, the bus let us off in Kyleakin on Skye and again the landscape had changed. Skye is all shades of blue and grey, so much water and cliffs, so little flat land.

No more now. Love from Linda.
