1868 - 1928. He was a famous architect and furniture designer.

 

2. Alexander Graham Bell?

 

1847 - 1922. He invented the telephone.

 

3. Sir Walter Scott?

 

1771 - 1832. A famous Scottish author. He wrote novels like Ivanhoe and Rob Roy.

 

4. Alexander Flemming?

 

1881 - 1955. He discovered penicillin.

 

5. John Logie Baird?

 

1888 - 1946. He invented the television.

 

6. John McAdam?

 

1756 - ?. He invented tarmac - a material used for making road surfaces.

 

7. Andrew Carnegie?

 

1835 - 1919. Born in Scotland but immigrated with his family to USA in 1848.
Later he became the Steel King of America and also the richest man in the world.
When he died, he had given away $350 million dollars to concert halls, schools,
colleges, libraries and church organizations.
