Music from Scotland

Scotland Today  ->  Music from Scotland

Who do not know 'Should Old Acquaintance Be Forgot', by Robert Burns? And there are other folk tunes that are well known, such as 'The Skye Boat Song' or 'Loch Lomond'

And who have not heard and wondered about the strange sound of a bagpipe?

Also today there is produced good Scottish music. Many people know Runrig but there are of course other musicians.
Maybe you have heard about the folk singer Robin Williamson? He played in The Incredible String Band many years ago and his brother was Roy Williamson who played in the Corries and wrote the song, 'Flowers of Scotland'.

Or have you heard about another Scottish folk singer, Dougie MacLean? He is also very good.

A good general music site on the web is: www.ubl.com.
