We all have romantic ideas of old Highlanders dressed in kílts and with their own clan tartans. But we are sorry to say that the tartan is a very recent devellopment and a continuing one. In fact tartans can be designed and drawn up on computers before being made. The two Glasgow football clubs, Rangers and Celtic, have invented their own tartan.

A. The Celtic FC Tartan.

Find Celtic FC tartan.
 •  Go to www.whitethistle.net
Click How a kilt is made, and look at the pages.
Click Bagpipe Music, and listen to the melodies.
